Greater recognition and exposure for the region’s health information exchange.

February and March saw even greater visibility for HSX:

  • Demo a Success at HIMSS ’17!
HealthShare Exchange had a significant presence again this year at the world’s largest health information technology conference, HIMSS17 in Orlando, Florida.  Response was strong to its innovative demonstration of clinical-data interoperability, involving more than a half-dozen partner organizations.  Fictitious patient Felecia’s story depicted a scenario in which a young woman failed to overcome cancer through her care in 2016 — then fast-forwarded to a future in which health information exchange helped her win the battle with a different sequence of events in clinical care in 2020.  Learn more, see the pictures and videos, and the scripts used for this pioneering demo.

  • New Site Puts Services, Benefits Front and Center
Check out HealthShare Exchange’s newly reorganized website, which debuted in March.  Reworked and expanded with a user-persona design, the site makes it easier for participants, consumers, and others to the find the information they want about their regional Philadelphia-area health information exchange.  Users can explore the particular services and benefits available for their organization type and easily sign up for service.

  • Latest Champs Hit Wall of Fame
Our illustrious Health Information Exchange Champions for 2016, now grace the Champions Wall at the HSX offices.  Recipients were from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Aria-Jefferson Health, Einstein Healthcare Network, Main Line Health, and Doylestown Health.  Be an HIE Champion in 2017!

  • Long-Term Care Data Begins to Flow
HSX is now conducting information exchange with its first national provider of post-acute care.  Genesis HealthCare began providing admission, discharge, transfer (ADT) data to HealthShare Exchange in March.  Genesis operates more than 500 facilities nationwide, including locally in West Chester, Pa., and Wayne, Pa., as well as the PowerBack Rehabilitation facilities in Center City Philadelphia and Willow Grove, Pa.

  • Partnering for Population Health
HealthShare Exchange exhibited at the 17th annual Jefferson Population Health Colloquium, now the premier national meeting of population health experts.  Jefferson is a regional partner in population health initiatives, serving on HealthShare Exchange’s Population Health Workgroup.
