Yolande Greene, Intern
“I am so grateful to have my final internship at HSX. It is the culmination of my educational experiences,” says Yolande Greene who, as a result of her service in the HealthShare Exchange’s internship program, now helps to manage implementation support at HSX. Currently a master’s student at Drexel University’s School of Public Health, Yolande originally planned to go into healthcare administration, but says she has found that an organization such as HSX has proven to be an even better match for her interest in technology and healthcare.
Her projects include supporting HSX program manager Rakesh Matthew with direct implementation, as well as developing a research white paper on the value and sustainability of HIE’s in the nation. Her work continues with testing interoperability among the HSX membership and supporting the Health Level-7 (HL7) admit, discharge, and transfer (ADT) message implementation.
After the completion of her MPH in June of this year, Yolande would like to continue her work in the healthcare field through either management, consulting, or an ongoing role with HSX. “HSX provides me with my ideal work experience. I’m challenged and I’m encouraged to contribute ideas,” she says. “It’s an overall wonderful experience, as I work with a great team of people and I’m doing something that is both significant and impactful.”
